What to Expect: Your First Tox Appointment

Tox treatments are quick, minimally invasive, and require little downtime. Here’s a simple breakdown of what you can expect before, during, and after your appointment:

Before Your Appointment

Your experience starts with a consultation and full facial assessment. During this time, we will discuss your goals, assess your facial muscles, and determine the right treatment plan for you. There will be time for discussion and answering all questions. You may be advised to avoid alcohol, blood thinners, or certain supplements for a day or two beforehand to reduce the risk of bruising.

During the Treatment

Tox injections are surprisingly fast—most sessions take about 15 to 30 minutes. Your provider will use a very small needle to inject small amounts of Tox into targeted muscles. You might feel a slight pinch, but discomfort is typically minimal, plus we have all the numbing and distraction tools to ensure comfort!

After the Appointment

You can usually return to your normal activities fairly quickly. However, you’ll want to avoid rubbing the treated area, lying down for 4 hours after injection, or applying makeup for 4 hours after injection. It may be recommended to avoid engaging in intense exercise/sweating the same day. Mild swelling at the injection site is normal and usually fades within a few minutes.

When You’ll See Results

Tox doesn’t work instantly. You may start noticing changes within 3 to 5 days, with full results appearing at 2 weeks. It is important to follow up with your injector between 2-3 weeks from treatment to ensure all parties are happy with the results. The effects typically last 3 to 4 months, after which follow-up treatments can help maintain your results.
